Triple Roll Mill

A three-roll mill disperses and refines viscous materials by using shear forces created between three horizontally positioned rollers rotating in opposite directions and at different speeds. The material is fed between the center and feed rolls, where it is subjected to a shear force due to the different speeds and the narrowing gap between the rollers. The material is then transferred to the apron roll, which is also subject to a high shear force due to its higher speed and smaller gap. A knife blade scrapes the processed material off the apron roll.
